False rumors and misinformed information are already floating around. The latest update I over heard someone at my work saying was if the businesses keep their current employee health plan coverages they will be taxed 8% of each of their employees yearly earnings for federal health care coverage. That struck me as odd. He then went on to say that gives the corporations no alternative but to drop health care coverage altogether.
My opinion is this:
I think the corporations will be taxed 8% of their workers yearly income if they don’t provide health care coverage. That would then give the businesses incentive to continue supplying health care. That gives the corporations the option to see what would be more beneficial to them.
This is what I think will happen if they can get away with it:
They will pay the 8% to the government and then deduct the 8% right out of our paycheck to make it look like they are still supplying the coverage but now they will get away scott free. Does anybody else think this is possible? I would appreciate further opinions on this topic.
It all depends what the definition of the word "work" is. If it means that people for whom health care may now be accessed for free will take advantage of the new plan, than it will "work". If it means that the state of health care in the United States will be improved, it will certainly not "work".
